About Mode 13

Mode 13 is a Minnesota-based software company focusing on video games and game-related technologies. From OpenGL to DirectX, from DirectSound to OpenAL, from the 21-inch screen of your PC monitor to the 4-inch screen of your iPhone, Mode 13 has it covered.

Jon Hellebuyck is the lead designer at Mode 13. He has been a software developer long enough to know what COBOL is, and has been a lover of video games ever since he first laid eyes on the Apple II version of Oregon Trail (you can have any color pixel you want, as long as it's green). He cut his teeth programming BASIC for the TI-99 4/A back in 5th grade and has enjoyed writing code in one form or another ever since.
